CASE STUDY: STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IMMUNIZATION BRANCH

- Organize the public education campaigns for VAX to School, At Risk Hepatitis B, Protect Hawaii’s Keiki, Fight the Flu, and an online vaccination registry called Hawaii Immunization Registry

Challenge:
To educate the residents of Hawaii and immigrants whose primary language is not English about the importance of immunizations for vaccine preventable diseases for specific at risk groups.
Solution:
PCF Virtual has established partnerships and incentive programs with local businesses and conducted research to identify issues facing this population in order to create campaigns, including collateral material and educational programming, geared specifically for people from these communities.
Results:
PCF has created a Pre-Arrival Video program for migrants and immigrants to Hawaii that has improved awareness and understanding of the various immunization requirements expected for immigration into the United States. This is helping to increase the number of individuals entering the state with the proper immunizations, and reducing the amount of those undocumented.
